Renaissance Foundation and CNEX Foundation are presenting the Documentary Screening Tour “Dissolution & Restoration of Love", 3 documentaries will be screening at the Fringe Club. Let’s rediscover Love through images and dialogues!

Director: Singing Chen │Taiwan│2014│147 mins

Filmed for over 10 years, this epic documentary presents the story of renowned Taiwanese choreographer Lin Lee-chen and her Legend Lin Dance Theatre. Extracting the essential details of Lin’s daily life, the film explores the origins of her dance, contemplates the poetic and ritualistic movements she creates, and delineates her lifetime pursuit of aesthetic concerns.

BEFORE THE LAST CURTAIN FALLS Poster smaller“Before the Last Curtain Falls”

Director: Thomas Wallner│Belgium, Canada, Germany│2014│88 mins

The documentary tells the story of great love, bitter disappointments and self-doubts – but most of all of courage. The courage to take risks, try something new and become yourself, no matter what age. The film dives deeply into the exceptional and heart-warming stories of a group of transsexuals and drag queens in their sixties and seventies, who summon up their bravery to take to the stage one last time. For two years they have been touring in five continents, basking in the success of a spectacular show called “Gardenia”.

Planet of Snail Poster smaller“Planet of Snail”

Director: Seung-Jun Yi │Japan, Korea│2011│86 mins

Young-chan comes from planet of snail where deaf blind people live slow and quiet lives. When Young-chan came to Earth, nobody understood his language and he was desperate. Then an angel walked into his life. Soon-ho knows how it is to be lonely and soon becomes an inseparable part of his life. Young-chan also discovers an amazing world under his fingers as he learned to read books with braille. Hopes began to grow and he dreams of writing a book. However, Soon-ho cannot always be there for him because of her own problem of spine disability. The couple now should learn to survive alone. While Soon-ho uneasily spends her first day waiting for his return, Young-chan goes out for the biggest adventure of his life.
