Masterclass with Yip Kam Tim

Aim:
In RFHK Masterclasses, internationally renowned artists are invited to share their experiences with local young talents and provide them with opportunities to participate in various art projects in Hong Kong.

Introduction:
In participating in a series of workshops as well as Tim Yip's art project that follows, students can advance in their skills, and can have a chance to take part in the creative industry.

Tim Yip's Profile:
Tim Yip is a multi-discipline artist with works in costume design, visual and contemporary art. With Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Tim won the Oscar for Best Art Direction and Costume Design and the British Academy Film Award for Best Costume Design in 2001. He also was the Art Director of John Woo’s film Red Cliff in 2008 and the Art Director of the TV drama based on a Chinese literature classic Dream of the Red Chamber in 2010. He is renowned for his accomplishments on costume design and art direction for many films and theatrical performances.

Details of the workshop:
- the workshops will be conducted by Tim Yip
- 15 participants will be selected
- the series of workshops will last for 3 months with 3 concentrated lecturing and tutoring, each lasts for 3 days
- participants shall finish their artwork within 3 months, and will have the chance to participate in Tim Yip's upcoming exhibition
- for those who completed the workshop will be presented with a certificate
- those who perform well will be invited to join the curating team of Tim Yip's upcoming exhibition in Hong Kong
